Have you ever felt stuck trying to understand your mental health or wondered if ADHD or anxiety could be affecting your daily life? At NWOCC, we provide psychological assessments designed to offer clarity, guidance, and the support you need—all from the comfort of your home.
At NWOCC, we understand that mental health is complex and seeking clarity about your emotional well-being is an important step toward healing. With the addition of our Clinical Psychologist, we are excited to now offer a variety of psychological assessments or adults and adolescents. We’ve received many questions about these services, so we want to take this opportunity to explain what psychological assessments are, how they work, and how they can help you better understand your mental health.
What is a Psychological Assessment?
A psychological assessment is a process in which a licensed psychologist evaluates your mental health through a combination of clinical interviews, standardized questionnaires, and sometimes tests. These assessments are designed to provide a clear understanding of your mental health and help with diagnosis and treatment planning.
At NWOCC, we currently offer the following mental health assessments:
- Adolescent & Adult Mental Health Assessments
- Adult ADHD Assessments
These assessments are especially helpful if you’ve been experiencing symptoms like anxiety, depression, stress, or PTSD and want to understand your mental health more clearly. A confirmed diagnosis can provide clarity and guide the next steps in your journey toward healing.
How Mental Health Assessments Help You
Mental health assessments can make a significant difference in your mental health journey. Here’s how:
- Get a Clear Diagnosis: If you’ve been struggling with symptoms like sadness, worry, or trauma, it’s important to get a professional diagnosis. With a formal diagnosis of depression, anxiety, or PTSD, you’ll have a better understanding of your mental health, which can help in creating a tailored treatment plan. It can also guide whether psychotherapy or medication is needed.
- ADHD Diagnosis and Support: For those who suspect they may have ADHD, an adult ADHD assessment can confirm whether you have the condition. If you’ve self-diagnosed or suspect ADHD, an official diagnosis by a clinical psychologist can provide you with strategies to manage ADHD symptoms in everyday life, such as time management, focus, and organization. It also helps determine if therapy or medication might be a good fit for you.
- Better Treatment Planning: A formal assessment can enhance the effectiveness of your therapy by identifying the underlying causes of your symptoms and providing clarity on how to approach treatment. This can lead to more targeted and effective support in your mental health journey.
