It is the policy of NWOCC to provide vital mental health services free from financial barriers. NWOCC’s Sliding Scale Policy is designed to provide discounted services to those who have no means, or limited means, to pay for their mental health services.
Although psychotherapy is not publicly funded under OHIP in Ontario, many insurance plans include counselling within their coverage packages. If you intend to claim your sessions, we strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if psychotherapy from a Registered Psychotherapist is covered. Northwest Ontario Counselling & Consulting does not do direct billing, therefore, it is your responsibility to submit your receipts to your insurance company. If you do not have coverage, you may submit your receipts from sessions with your taxes as part of your medical expenses.
