Hi, my name is Davin and, as a Psychometrist at NWOCC, I support virtual assessments for diagnostic and treatment purposes.
A little about me: I've always been interested in the human head, I just focused on the wrong part for a while. The first job I remember really being interested in was becoming a dentist, until it clicked that I wasn't all that fascinated with teeth. What I truly found amazing was the human mind and the way that our brains and behaviour are interconnected. That led me down the path of neuropsychology, and particularly psychological assessment, which is a field specifically designed to get a glimpse into how someone's brain is functioning. It was a perfect match. Plus, it's a little less awkward to have a conversation with someone when you don't have your fingers in their mouth.
Despite the fact that assessment measures are administered in a strictly standardized fashion, I strive to not have it feel like a robotic or cold experience. I want clients to feel relaxed, have some fun, and to leave the session feeling like they spent the day hanging out with a friend. It would be my pleasure to connect with you along your psychological assessment pathway!
